This guide contains forty routes of varying difficulty and length, ranging from an easy 10km to a difficult 140km. All routes pass through fantastic countryside. The author has biked the length and breadth of central Scotland seeking out the choicest cycle-friendly routes that allow the rider to travel unhindered through some of Scotland's most diverse terrain, from the wave-swept beaches of the Atlantic west coast to the glens and straths of the north and east. All routes start and finish at railway stations, and most are circular. Only a few require the use of a mountain bike.
