I cycled the route last Easter in the snow between Chepstow and Machynlleth on my touring bike. It's a great ride. I avoided the Ancient Coach road section (stayed on the A470), but otherwise stuck to the route which with the map was easy to follow. Good camping spots near Hay-on-Wye and Llanidloes.
