NEW FULLY REVISED AND EXPANDED EDITION: The 200 mile Coast & Castles South cycle route (National Route 1) links the Forth and Tyne estuaries, taking in some of Britain's best built and natural heritage, including Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site, unspoiled coastline and the beautiful Tweed Valley before arriving in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city. This new edition of the map also shows National Route 76 between Edinburgh and Berwick-upon-Tweed via Dunbar following the coast for much of the route, National Route 68 between Norham and Alwinton with links to Rothbury and Alnwick, and Regional Route 73 between Penicuik and Pencaitland.
Day rides on and around the route are also shown along with sections of the Borderloop, 4 Abbeys and Tweed cycle routes.
The route follows:
National Route 72 between Newcastle and North Shields
National Route 1 between North Shields and Edinburgh
National Route 68 is shown between Alwinton and Berwick-upon-Tweed
National Route 76 is shown between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Edinburgh
Regional Route 73 is shown between Penicuik and Pencaitland
Coast and Castles South also forms a part of the international North Sea Cycle Route.
