Middlesbourgh - South Shields, Sunderland - Consett and other routes

The unique Three Rivers Cycle Route travels through contrasting landscapes and past some of the most iconic sights and attractions in the North East. Numbered as National Route 14, blue signposts will guide you along its snaking 80miles (129km) between Middlesbrough and South Shields and along a host of interesting alternative routes including the C2C sculpture trail and the Two Rivers Cycleway between Sunderland and South Shields which passes Souter Lighthouse featured on the cover.

The Three Rivers Cycle Route follows:
National Route 14 between Stockton-on-Tees and South Shields via Hartlepool, Durham and Consett

Other routes shown include:
National Route 1 between Redcar and Lynemouth via Sunderland
National Route 7 between Consett and Sunderland
National Route 72 between Hexham and South Shields
Regional Route 10 between Bellingham and Tynemouth
Regional Route 20 between Barnard Castle and Sunderland
Regional Route 52 between Barnard Castle and Great Ayton
